Medtronic plc acquired SonarMed, a Purdue‑bred developer of the SonarMed airway monitoring system, in December 2020. The acquisition adds continuous acoustic airway monitoring technology for neonatal and pediatric ventilation to Medtronic's respiratory/medical surgical portfolio to help detect endotracheal tube obstruction and position in real time.

Boston Scientific to Acquire SoniVie Ltd

Boston Scientific Corporation has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire SoniVie Ltd., a privately held medical device company developing the TIVUS intravascular ultrasound system for renal denervation therapy for hypertension. The deal includes an upfront payment of approximately $360 million for the 90% stake Boston Scientific does not already own, plus up to $180 million contingent on achievement of a regulatory milestone.

Hologic Acquires Gynesonics

Exo Acquires Medo AI to Bring AI-Enabled Ultrasound Imaging to Point-of-Care

LatticeFlow AI Acquires AI Sonar Ltd.

Swiss deep-tech firm LatticeFlow AI has acquired Dublin-based AI Sonar Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of CloudSphere Ltd., to add on-prem AI discovery capabilities to its evidence-based AI governance platform. LatticeFlow assumes ownership of AI Sonar's platform, IP and engineering operations, establishes Dublin as an R&D hub, and will integrate AI Sonar's discovery capabilities with its centralized SaaS governance stack.

HARMAN (Samsung) Completes Acquisition of Sound United from Masimo

The deal transfers Sound United's portfolio of premium audio brands — including Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Marantz, Polk Audio, HEOS, Classé, Definitive Technology and Boston Acoustics — to HARMAN, expanding its product offerings across home, personal and automotive audio; media reports value the transaction at approximately $350 million.
