Raise, a workforce deployment company, acquired Murmur, a technology-enabled supplier marketplace platform focused on contingent workforce supplier management. The deal builds on an existing partnership between the companies and is intended to expand Raise’s Supplier Marketplace and modernize how enterprises manage complex supplier ecosystems and supplier performance.

Andela Inc. acquired Woven, a technical assessment company, to strengthen Andela’s ability to evaluate AI fluency and predict on-the-job performance for engineers. Upwork announced it has acquired Bubty, a workforce management platform, and signed a definitive agreement to acquire Ascen, a global compliance and employer-of-record (EOR) provider. Gridiron Capital and Stella Point Capital announced the closing of the strategic merger of their respective portfolio companies, Travel Nurse Across America (TNAA) and TotalMed. The combination brings together two healthcare staffing and MSP (managed service provider) platforms, with TNAA CEO Tim McKenzie leading the newly merged organization and TotalMed CEO Sejal Shah joining the board. Caltius Structured Capital closed a debt and equity financing for Strategic Kids, LLC to support the company’s growth initiatives. The capital will help Strategic Kids expand relationships with existing schools and add new schools and districts across its markets.

LAZ Parking acquired a majority interest in FleetLogix, a fleet management and staffing services provider serving transportation, logistics, and fleet services customers. Kingswood Capital Management, LP completed a strategic investment in Infotree Global Solutions, a provider of international workforce management solutions. Infotree co-founders Raman Sawhney and John McKimmy are investing alongside Kingswood and will remain significant shareholders following the closing.

512Financial, a fractional business services firm, acquired AustinPeopleWorks (APW), an HR and recruiting firm, to expand its HR capacity and add recruiting and talent sourcing capabilities. APW founder Laurie Howell negotiated the deal with 512Financial CEO Bart Davis; Howell will continue to consult and advise 512Financial after the acquisition. The combined organization will maintain its headquarters in Austin, Texas, and the transaction is effective immediately.

GEE Group, a provider of professional staffing services and human resource solutions, acquired 100% of the common stock of Hornet Staffing, an Atlanta-based staff augmentation firm with national service capability. The purchase consideration included cash and seller financing, with other terms not disclosed, and Hornet founder Larry Bruce will continue to lead Hornet and join GEE Group’s national sales efforts.

Buildforce, a construction hiring and workforce management platform connecting skilled electricians with electrical contractors, acquired Ladder, a Y Combinator-backed construction labor marketplace. Ladder founder and CEO Alex Stewart will continue in a leadership role focused on expanding the combined business across the U.S. Southeast, leveraging Ladder’s 200+ customers and network of 10,000+ pre-screened electricians.

Conexus Recruiting acquired CV Resources, a staffing firm specializing in finance and accounting interim and direct-hire placements. The deal strengthens Conexus Recruiting’s presence in Southern California and the Pacific Northwest and expands its ability to support Office of the CFO staffing needs across a broader range of roles.

Argosy Healthcare Partners (AHP) completed a recapitalization/partnership transaction in which it acquired Nicklas Medical Staffing (NMS), a Jacksonville, Florida-based provider of staffing solutions for pathology and histology labs nationwide. Founded in 2013 by Deborah Hills, NMS connects specialized lab professionals (including pathologists' assistants, histotechnologists, histotechnicians, and cytotechnologists) with labs through flexible staffing models. SDR Ventures served as exclusive sell-side advisor to NMS and its leadership team.

Health Advocates Network, a Boca Raton, Florida-based healthcare staffing firm, acquired DiagnosTemps, a Dallas-based radiology staffing firm. The acquisition is intended to expand Health Advocates Network’s allied staffing offerings and scale its presence in Texas. Financial terms were not disclosed.

JobGet, an app-first job platform for hourly workers, acquired Snagajob to create what it describes as the largest hourly workforce job platform in the United States. The deal expands JobGet’s reach to more than 100 million hourly workers, with Snagajob continuing to operate as a standalone entity within JobGet.

Paper Trails, a Maine-based payroll and human resources services company, acquired Local Economy Payroll, a family-run payroll services provider based in Portland, Maine. The deal supports the retirement transition of founders Tom Gangewer and Jim Belanger, with Local Economy Payroll’s employees joining Paper Trails to continue serving existing clients.

Eliassen Group, LLC acquired VIA Technical, a San Diego-based IT talent services/staffing firm, to broaden service offerings and expand Eliassen’s Southern California footprint. The transaction closed on October 14, 2024, and VIA Technical founder and CEO Natalie Viani will remain with the combined company to lead growth in the San Diego area; financial terms were not disclosed.

Loop (an SCI company) acquired Moorecroft Systems, a Georgia-based provider of IT consulting and IT staffing. The transaction closed on Oct. 11, with Moorecroft’s founder Neville Saunders transitioning out as part of his retirement. Financial terms were not disclosed.

ZRG, a global talent advisory firm backed by RFE Investment Partners, acquired Bravanti, a Chicago-based advisory firm specializing in executive coaching, leadership development, and outplacement/career transition services. The deal expands ZRG’s leadership development and consulting capabilities by adding Bravanti’s global network of coaches and consultants; financial terms were not disclosed.

CareerBuilder and Monster have finalized their previously announced combination after receiving customary regulatory approvals. The merged organization will operate as “CareerBuilder + Monster,” with both websites continuing to run, aiming to create a larger-scale job board for employers and job seekers. Jeff Furman will serve as CEO of the combined company.

Zirtual, a provider of virtual assistant services backed by PennSpring Capital, acquired Double, an executive-assistant and on-demand services provider powered by proprietary AI. The deal adds Double’s bench of college-educated executive assistants and its AI-driven matching and delegation software suite (built with over $20 million of prior venture funding), expanding Zirtual’s customer base and capabilities. The acquisition is described as Zirtual’s third complementary acquisition in 2024 following Del.Trust and Delegated.

Vangst, a cannabis industry hiring platform headquartered in Denver, Colorado, announced it has acquired GreenForce, a cannabis temporary staffing agency operating in Oregon and Arizona. GreenForce founder and CEO Ryan Rosenfeld will join Vangst as Chief Business Officer to support regional and national expansion. This is Vangst’s second acquisition in 2024.

True, a tech- and data-first global executive talent platform, acquired boutique executive search firm Paradigm Search. Paradigm founder and CEO Matt Johnson and the Paradigm team will join True’s Product, Data & Technology (PDT) practice to expand True’s capabilities in placing engineering and product leadership talent.

Xenspire Group acquired OneSource, a Mandeville, Louisiana-based staffing firm providing technical and financial search focused on the oil and gas industry. The transaction, announced by Benchmark International, closed Sept. 6 and was formally announced Sept. 16; terms were not disclosed. The sale was driven by the OneSource owners seeking full retirement.

Vensure Employer Solutions announced that its payroll and HR services provider Execupay has acquired Professional Payroll. Founded in 2003 and based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Professional Payroll provides payroll and HR services to more than 150 clients nationwide, with a focus on hospitality and medical practices. The acquisition expands Execupay and Vensure’s HR software and services portfolio.

Triage Staffing, a medical staffing agency headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, has acquired RTG Medical, a Fremont-based healthcare staffing agency founded in 2001. The deal expands Triage’s nursing, long-term care, and allied staffing divisions and strengthens its healthcare staffing footprint. RTG’s COO and co-founder Jeremy Guenthner will transition into a role at Triage, while RTG President and CEO Charlie Janssen will exit following the acquisition.

HCT Renewable Energy closed $13 million in growth financing via an asset-based facility from Phoenix Merchant Partners and Caydan Capital Partners. The capital will be used to accelerate and optimize HCT’s expansion in solar industry staffing across North America.

Sprockets acquired HourWork, a Boston-based AI-driven recruitment and retention platform focused on hourly workers. The deal expands Sprockets’ capabilities across recruitment, screening, and post-hire engagement to help employers improve hiring and retention outcomes.

AccuSourceHR, Inc. acquired Frasco Profiles, a consumer reporting agency and employment screening organization headquartered in Burbank, California. The deal expands AccuSourceHR’s workforce screening capabilities and service footprint across multiple regulated end markets including healthcare, staffing, government, education, transportation, and manufacturing.

Questco, a professional employer organization (PEO) providing outsourced HR services, announced a partnership and strategic investment from LightBay Capital. The investment is intended to support Questco’s growth in direct sales and channel partnerships, pursue acquisitions, and continue investing in technology. Parallel49 Equity was thanked for its prior partnership and support in connection with the transaction.

G&A Partners, a national professional employer organization (PEO) and HR outsourcing provider, acquired Denver, Colorado-based Management Solutions Inc., a PEO and HR management services firm. Founder Rick VanDyke will remain with the business in a business development role as the company is integrated into G&A Partners’ Denver operations.
