United Risk Acquires Pinnacle Underwriting (Sydney)

United Risk has completed the acquisition of Pinnacle Underwriting Pty Ltd and its affiliate Pinnacle Holdings Group Pty Ltd, a Sydney-headquartered specialty facultative reinsurance MGA with offices in Melbourne, Singapore and Dubai. The deal expands United Risk's MGA footprint and geographic reach across the Asia-Pacific and MENA regions and adds a property-heavy reinsurance book (approximately 80% property writings) to United Risk's global portfolio.

Ryan Specialty To Acquire Velocity Risk Underwriters

Ryan Specialty has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Velocity Risk Underwriters from funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management. The deal will bring Velocity—an underwriting manager and managing general underwriter focused on catastrophe-exposed property risks—into Ryan Specialty’s Underwriting Managers division, with closing expected in early 2025 subject to regulatory approval.

Verisk Acquires SuranceBay

SuranceBay provides producer licensing and compliance solutions for the life and annuity industry, including its agency management software SureLC, which is expected to integrate with Verisk’s FAST platform to improve end-to-end insurance lifecycle workflows.

Acrisure Acquires Volante Global

Acrisure has acquired Volante Global, a London-headquartered, multi-class international Managing General Agent (MGA) that includes brands such as Aesir Space and Horizon Europe AG. The deal (terms not disclosed) brings Volante's specialty underwriting capabilities, Lloyd’s syndicate alignment and international presence into Acrisure’s growing MGA strategy; prior majority investor was Nephila Holdings Ltd. (a subsidiary of Markel Corporation).
