Ascend Technologies Acquires Stratosphere Networks' Managed IT and Security Services Division

Ascend Technologies has acquired the managed IT and security services division of Stratosphere Networks in a carve-out that expands Ascend’s presence and managed services capability in the Chicago area. Stratosphere will retain its IT project, voice services and consulting businesses while Ascend — backed by private equity partner M/C Partners — onboards the transferred managed services staff and clients.

Battery Ventures has agreed to make a significant strategic investment in Ascendant (AscendantFX Capital Inc.), becoming the company's primary investor to accelerate product innovation, network expansion and growth. Ascendant, a Toronto-based cross-border payments fintech serving over 2,000 financial institutions and corporate customers, said the transaction is expected to close in H1 2023 subject to regulatory approval; Raymond James acted as Ascendant's exclusive financial advisor.

COMSovereign Holding Corp. agreed to acquire all equity interests of Skyline Technology Partners, LLC d/b/a Fastback Networks for approximately $14 million in cash and debentures (including convertible debentures). The acquisition adds Fastback's intelligent backhaul radios, operations, customers and a portfolio of patents (65 granted, 12 pending) to COMSovereign's 5G connectivity and wireless backhaul product and IP portfolio, broadening its capabilities for Tier-1 and private 5G deployments.

Wesco International Acquires Ascent for $185 Million

Wesco International entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Ascent LLC, a provider of data center facility management services, for a cash-free, debt-free purchase price of $185 million. The acquisition complements Wesco’s data center solutions portfolio with Ascent’s site operations capabilities, engineering/design-build expertise, and its proprietary Navigator client dashboard platform.
