Entrust Corporation acquired HyTrust, Inc., a Mountain View–based provider of virtualized and multi‑cloud data encryption, key management, and cloud security posture management solutions. The acquisition adds encryption, cryptographic key management and cloud security policy capabilities to Entrust’s identity and data protection portfolio; terms were not disclosed.

TruSecure and Betrusted Merge to Form Cybertrust

Information security firms TruSecure and Betrusted have merged to form a new company called Cybertrust, headquartered in Herndon, Virginia. The combined business will offer risk-management consulting, managed security services and security software, employ about 1,000 people globally with roughly $160 million in annual revenue, and will be led by TruSecure CEO John Becker. Betrusted had been a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank One’s One Equity Partners; details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Sysnet Global Solutions Acquires SecureTrust from Trustwave

Sysnet Global Solutions has acquired SecureTrust, a division of Trustwave, and purchased a portion of Trustwave’s MSS business focused on the hospitality sector. The deal expands Sysnet’s PCI-compliance, QSA and managed security capabilities and geographic coverage, creating the world’s largest Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) organization; Sysnet is backed by FTV Capital and True Wind Capital.

Cadence Acquires Secure-IC

Lookout Acquires CipherCloud to Deliver Endpoint-to-Cloud Security

Lookout, Inc. acquired cloud-native security vendor CipherCloud to combine Lookout’s mobile/endpoint security with CipherCloud’s SASE capabilities (CASB, ZTNA, SWG, DLP). The acquisition positions Lookout to offer an integrated endpoint-to-cloud security platform serving large enterprises and government customers; CipherCloud’s founder Pravin Kothari will join Lookout as EVP, Product and Strategy, SASE. Financial terms were not disclosed.

CrowdStrike Acquires SecureCircle

CrowdStrike has completed its acquisition of SecureCircle, a SaaS-based data protection company that extends Zero Trust controls to data on, from, and to endpoints. SecureCircle founders Jeff Capone and Artem Tsai and key staff are joining CrowdStrike as the company integrates SecureCircle technology into its Falcon platform to enforce data-layer Zero Trust protection.
