TowerBrook and CD&R Acquire R1 RCM for $8.9 Billion

Investment funds affiliated with TowerBrook Capital Partners and Clayton, Dubilier & Rice agreed to acquire all outstanding shares of R1 RCM Inc. in an all-cash transaction valuing the company at approximately $8.9 billion ($14.30 per share). The transaction will take R1 private to support continued investment in its revenue-cycle automation platform and expansion of intelligent automation and generative AI capabilities for healthcare providers.

RCM Holdings (Edgewater) Acquires MedData from MEDNAX

The deal creates a PE-backed RCM platform aimed at consolidating niche revenue cycle management capabilities and expanding geographic presence and service offerings to hospitals, health systems and physician groups.

Cloudmed Acquires Managed Care Revenue Consulting Group (MCRC Group)

The acquisition combines MCRC's managed care and payment validation expertise with Cloudmed's Revenue Intelligence platform to expand Cloudmed's revenue recovery and managed care capabilities for hospitals and health systems.

R1 RCM Acquires SCI Solutions

R1 RCM Inc. completed the acquisition of SCI Solutions, a provider of digital patient access and engagement software, to expand its technology-enabled revenue cycle and patient intake capabilities. The deal (announced Jan 2020, closed Apr 2020) brings SCI’s EHR-agnostic care coordination marketplace and digital “front door” offerings into R1’s platform, and was previously owned by investors including The Wicks Group, NEA and Columbia Pacific.

Medusind Acquires RC McLean & Associates' Revenue Cycle Management Agreements

R1 RCM Acquires Acclara from Providence

R1 RCM Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Acclara from Providence for $675 million in cash plus warrants to purchase 12.2 million shares of R1. The deal includes a 10-year revenue cycle management agreement whereby Acclara and Providence will partner with R1, expanding R1's scale, capabilities, and long-term revenue opportunities in healthcare revenue cycle management.
