Independence Pet Group (IPG) has completed the acquisition of Fairfax Financial’s U.S. and Canadian interests in the Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group (C&F Pet) and Pethealth Inc., bringing multiple pet insurance brands and pet-wellbeing services onto IPG's platform. The deal expands IPG’s footprint in the United States and Canada and increases its scale across insurance brands, shelter services and pet registry capabilities.

Pinnacle Pet Group Acquires Veterfina’s European Pet Insurance Business

JAB Holding Company’s Pinnacle Pet Group (PPG) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Veterfina Verzekeringsmaatschappij N.V. and its European subsidiaries. The deal is expected to close in Q4 2022, subject to customary regulatory approvals, and financial terms were not disclosed. PPG plans to use growth equity to accelerate European expansion and roll out FIGO, JAB’s digital pet insurance offering, in select markets.

JAB Holding Company’s pet insurance business has agreed to acquire all of Fairfax Financial’s interests in the Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group (C&F Pet) and Pethealth Inc., including their worldwide operations. As part of the deal, Fairfax will receive $1.4 billion (including $1.15 billion cash and $250 million in seller notes) and will also invest $200 million in JAB’s JCP V consumer fund.

CVC Capital Partners (CVC) has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Partner in Pet Food (PPF), a pan‑European pet food manufacturer, with existing investor Cinven retaining a minority stake and continuing as a partner. PPF operates 12 production facilities across Europe, produced ~700k tonnes and generated approximately €800 million in 2023; the transaction is expected to close in 2024 subject to regulatory approvals.
