Johnson Controls Acquires M&M Carnot

Johnson Controls has acquired M&M Carnot, a provider of natural industrial refrigeration systems that use ultra-low global warming potential refrigerants such as CO2. The acquisition expands Johnson Controls' sustainable industrial refrigeration portfolio and strengthens its position to serve data centers, food and cold-storage, and other industrial customers with transcritical CO2 solutions and heat-pump technologies.

Parkland Corporation has agreed to acquire M&M Food Market from Searchlight Capital Partners for approximately $322 million, strengthening Parkland’s proprietary food offering and expanding its convenience retail food capabilities. The deal includes more than 300 standalone stores, over 2,000 M&M Express locations and a loyalty program of ~2 million members; it is expected to close in Q1 2022 subject to customary approvals.
