EQT Life Sciences, together with the LSP 7 fund and EQT Health Economics strategy, co-led a $56 million Series D financing in Neuros Medical to support U.S. commercialization of the Altius direct electrical nerve stimulation system for chronic post-amputation pain. Proceeds will fund scaling of commercial operations to expand access to the FDA‑approved, non‑opioid treatment for adult amputees.

Thompson Street Capital Partners Acquires LifeSpan Biosciences (LSBio)

Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP), a St. Louis-based private equity firm, has partnered with management to acquire Seattle-based LifeSpan Biosciences, Inc. (LSBio), a developer and e‑commerce distributor of antibodies, kits, proteins and related reagents for academic and pharmaceutical research. TSCP said it will support LSBio's strategy to expand its catalog and capabilities organically and via targeted acquisitions; terms were not disclosed.

Public Pension Capital Invests in Life Science Outsourcing, Inc.

Public Pension Capital, a New York-based private equity fund, made an investment in Life Science Outsourcing, Inc., a Brea, California-based contract manufacturer serving medical device companies. The transaction, completed January 25, 2021, will support LSO's medical package testing, validation, sterilization and distribution services and help accelerate the company's growth and capacity to serve device startups and larger OEMs.

EQT Private Equity Acquires SPT Labtech from Battery Ventures for GBP 650 million

EQT Private Equity (EQT IX) has agreed to acquire SPT Labtech, a UK-based designer and manufacturer of automated liquid handling, sample preparation and consumables for life science research, from Battery Ventures for GBP 650 million. EQT will support SPT's next phase of growth by accelerating product innovation, scaling its Cryo-EM sample preparation business and expanding into new geographies and end markets; the transaction is expected to close in Q3 2022.

EQT Healthcare Growth Agrees to Acquire Majority Stake in Europa Biosite

EQT to Acquire VetPartners from National Veterinary Associates

EQT has agreed to acquire VetPartners, the largest provider of veterinary and animal health services in Australia and New Zealand, from National Veterinary Associates. VetPartners operates a network of 267 clinics and specialty hospitals with over 4,300 clinical and support staff; EQT says it will invest in diagnostic equipment, technology, recruitment and training to support continued growth and improved clinical outcomes. The transaction is subject to customary approvals and is expected to close around the end of the calendar year.
