Elevance Health to Acquire BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy

Elevance Health announced it entered into an agreement to acquire BioPlus, a comprehensive specialty pharmacy that provides services for complex and chronic conditions such as cancer and autoimmune diseases. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2023 and will integrate BioPlus into Elevance Health’s pharmacy benefit manager, IngenioRx, within its Carelon healthcare services brand.

Catalent Acquires Paragon Bioservices for $1.2 Billion

Catalent, Inc. completed the $1.2 billion acquisition of Paragon Bioservices, Inc., a viral vector development and manufacturing partner for gene therapies, expanding Catalent’s biologics and gene therapy capabilities. Paragon’s Baltimore-area facilities and ~380 employees will join Catalent’s global biologics platform, while Catalent secured financing including incremental term loans and a convertible preferred issuance to Leonard Green & Partners to support the transaction.

Aptean Acquires Paragon Software Systems

Getinge Acquires Paragonix Technologies

Getinge has completed the acquisition of Paragonix Technologies, a U.S. developer of organ preservation devices and transplant logistics services, for an estimated total consideration of USD 477 million (including earn-outs). The deal will make Paragonix a wholly owned subsidiary of Getinge and is intended to expand Getinge's transplant product portfolio and bring Paragonix's technologies to new global markets.
