Canopy Growth Corporation has completed the acquisition of AV Cannabis Inc. (Ace Valley), buying 100% of the Ontario-based cannabis brand to expand its portfolio of ready-to-enjoy products. Canopy plans to leverage its national sales, marketing and distribution capabilities to scale Ace Valley across Canada and optimize production to drive growth and margins.

Chicago Atlantic and Vireo Growth Agree to Merge and Acquire Cannabis Operators (Including Arches JV and The Flowery)

Chicago Atlantic (as Vireo’s largest stockholder) and Vireo Growth executed definitive merger agreements to combine with three single-state cannabis operators: Proper Cannabis (Missouri), Deep Roots Harvest (Nevada), and WholesomeCo Cannabis (Utah). The deal also includes an acquisition of the Arches analytics and distribution technology platform joint venture between Wholesome and Proper, and Vireo signed a binding memorandum of understanding to acquire The Flowery (Florida). The combined transactions are valued collectively at about $397 million, subject to customary approvals.

CannaPiece Corp., a Canadian contract manufacturer of cannabis products, was sold by CannaPiece Group Inc. to 1000420548 Ontario Inc. pursuant to a share purchase agreement executed Feb. 8, 2023 and approved by the Ontario Superior Court on Feb. 10, 2023. The sale was completed as part of the company's creditor protection proceedings under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act and CannaPiece continues to operate under new ownership.
