Funds managed by Ares Management Corporation's Alternative Credit strategy and Real Estate Group acquired Capital Automotive LLC (CARS) from a Brookfield private real estate fund for $3.8 billion. CARS, headquartered in McLean, Virginia, owns a portfolio of more than 250 net-lease automotive dealership properties across the U.S. and Canada; the acquisition expands Ares' net-lease capabilities and increases its net lease gross asset value to more than $7 billion over the prior 15 months.

The transaction provides KBS with capital to invest in go-to-market capabilities and to accelerate growth while supporting continued delivery of facility services across industrial, commercial, logistics, retail and grocery end markets.

Ares Management to Acquire BlueCove (to Launch Ares Systematic Credit)

Ares Management to Acquire GCP International (Excluding Greater China Operations)

Ares Management Corporation entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the international business of GLP Capital Partners Limited and certain affiliates, excluding operations in Greater China (GCP International) for $3.7 billion. The transaction will combine Ares Real Estate with GCP International’s industrial, data center, and self-storage platforms and is expected to close in the first half of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.

Ares Management Acquires Controlling Interest in Atlas Crane Service

A fund managed by the Infrastructure Opportunities strategy of Ares Management has acquired a controlling interest in Atlas Crane Service, a full-service crane rental and MRO provider headquartered in Aurora, Illinois. Ares will support Atlas' growth, geographic expansion and capability expansion in the wind/renewables market while Atlas' executive team, led by CEO Zach Prentis, remains in place; financial terms were not disclosed.
