Altair has acquired Research in Flight, the developer of FlightStream — a fast, low-footprint computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solver used heavily in aerospace and defense and increasingly in marine, energy, turbomachinery, and automotive markets. The technology will be integrated into Altair’s HyperWorks platform and made available via Altair Units to expand Altair’s aerodynamic simulation capabilities for customers including aerospace, defense, and advanced mobility sectors.

Siemens Industry Software Acquires Altair Engineering

Siemens has signed an agreement to acquire Altair Engineering Inc. for $113 per share in cash, valuing the deal at about USD 10 billion. The transaction will combine Altair’s simulation, HPC, data science and AI capabilities with Siemens Xcelerator to create a more comprehensive AI-powered industrial software and digital twin portfolio.

The deal adds OmniQuest's optimization algorithms and expertise—used across automotive, motorsport (Formula 1) and aerospace applications—to Altair's simulation and AI product portfolio to strengthen its optimization capabilities.

Rocscience Acquires Italian Structural Engineering Software Provider 2SI

Builders FirstSource Acquires California TrusFrame

Builders FirstSource, Inc. has acquired California TrusFrame, LLC from TriWest Capital Partners for an enterprise value of US$179.5 million. California TrusFrame, a manufacturer of prefabricated roof trusses, floor trusses and wall panels based in Murrieta, California with four manufacturing facilities, will integrate into Builders FirstSource and its leadership (including CEO Shawn Overholtzer) will join the company.

ANSYS Acquires Assets of DfR Solutions

ANSYS acquired substantially all assets of DfR Solutions, the developer of Sherlock automated electronics reliability analysis software, to integrate electronics reliability capabilities into its multiphysics simulation portfolio. The deal is intended to enable designers to analyze electronics failure earlier in the design cycle and extend ANSYS’ electronic simulation offerings to include reliability and durability analyses for industries such as automotive, aerospace and medical devices.
